{MOUNT WILDWOOD} Natsuki: "Man, this day is the worst - I don't have a Yo-kai partner like the other two! Nate has Jibanyan and Whisper...Hailey has Usapyon...but I haven't met any Yo-kai at all. Not to mention all this doggone smog covering the mountain this spring." ???: "Hey...over here...in the smog..." (Natsuki looks around, but doesn't see anyone.) Natsuki: "Who's there?! I-I-I can't see you, but I know you're there!" ???: "By the big tree..." (Natsuki cautiously approaches the big tree, squinting through the smog.) Natsuki: "I still don't see you...!" (Frustrated, and still upset about not having a Yo-kai partner, Natsuki sits down at the base of the tree. All the while, a Yo-kai watches from the trees.) Badsmella: "If only she knew...all the humans used to love me back when I was Smogmella. But here I am, forever cursed to be Badsmella...the Wicked-tribe Yo-kai known for coating entire mountains in smog."

Natsuki: "Ugh, why is everything going wrong today...?" Badsmella: "Hey there, kid. Looks like you could use a little help. How about we make a deal?" (Natsuki looks up, surprised to see Badsmella floating in front of her.) Natsuki: "You're a Yo-kai...?" Badsmella: "Yep, the one and only Badsmella. And I can help you out with your little Yo-kai problem." Natsuki: "Really? You would help me find a Yo-kai partner?" Badsmella: "That's right. But in exchange, you'll have to do something for me. I need help getting rid of this smog that's been plaguing Mount Wildwood. It's been causing trouble for both humans and Yo-kai alike." Natsuki: "I'll do it! I'll help you get rid of the smog!" Badsmella: "Great! Let's work together to clean up this mountain and find you a Yo-kai partner. Deal?" Natsuki: "Deal!" (And so, Natsuki and Badsmella began their journey to rid Mount Wildwood of the smog and find Natsuki a Yo-kai partner. Little did Natsuki know that Badsmella had much more in store for her than just a simple partnership...)
