[Opening shot of a bustling police station with officers milling about. Suddenly, the camera zooms in on two officers, Detective Smith and Detective Jones, standing in front of a whiteboard with a map of the city.] DET. SMITH: Alright, people. We've got three separate bank robberies that have taken place in the last 24 hours. We need to figure out if they're related. DET. JONES: (scratching his head) But we have no leads, no suspects, nothing. DET. SMITH: (smiling slyly) Ah, but we do have a clue. All three robberies occurred within a 5-mile radius of this cafe known to have the best croissants in town. (Detective Smith pulls out a croissant from his pocket and takes a big bite.) DET. JONES: (alarmed) Hey, where'd you get that?! DET. SMITH: (chuckles) Relax, Jonesy. I went to the cafe this morning and snagged this before anyone else could. DET. JONES: (skeptically) And how is that a clue to the robberies? DET. SMITH: (confidently) The croissants at this cafe are so good, they could distract anyone, even a criminal. We need to take a closer look at this place. [The camera then cuts to a shot of the cafe as Chef Johnson exits the kitchen in a hurry, wiping his hands on his apron.] CHEF JOHNSON: (frustrated) This is ridiculous. Another batch of croissants ruined because my ovens keep fluctuating in temperature. [Suddenly, Detective Smith and Detective Jones burst into the kitchen, badges flashing.] DET. SMITH: Freeze! We're from the police department. CHEF JOHNSON: (taken aback) What the... DET. JONES: (explaining) We suspect that the recent bank robberies may be linked to the croissants at this cafe. CHEF JOHNSON: (snickering) You've got to be kidding me. The only thing my croissants are good for is satisfying hungry bellies. DET. SMITH: (smiling) Maybe so, but we know the power of a good croissant. And we'd like to try some ourselves. [Chef Johnson reluctantly serves the detectives two piping-hot croissants, watching them intently as they take a big bite.] DET. JONES: (chewing) Mmm, this is delicious. DET. SMITH: (nodding) Superb. Say, Chef, do you mind sharing the recipe? [The camera then cuts to a montage of Chef Johnson demonstrating his croissant-making skills and the detectives taking notes.] DET. SMITH: (excitedly) I can't wait to try this out in my own kitchen. DET. JONES: (smiling) Looks like we stumbled upon a new recipe to try out during our downtime. [The camera then cuts to a shot of the finished croissants sitting on a plate. The detectives take a bite and close their eyes in ecstasy.] DET. SMITH: (smiling) These croissants are criminal. Almost as good as the ones at that cafe we visited. [The camera then fades out to the detectives enjoying their newfound culinary skills.]
