They're threatening to stage a sit-in unless we come up with a plan to address the budget crisis. CHANCELLOR (sighs) I know, I know. This isn't what I imagined when I took this job. But we have to find a way to make it work. CUT TO: EXT. STUDENT CENTER - DAY A group of students are gathered, holding signs and chanting. STUDENTS (chanting) Hey hey, ho ho, budget cuts have got to go! Eve (played by Emma), the leader of the student group, steps forward. EVE (to the crowd) We can't sit back and let the administration destroy our education. It's time to take a stand. CUT TO: INT. FACULTY MEETING ROOM - DAY The Chancellor and his team are meeting with the faculty. CHANCELLOR We understand the concerns of the students, but we're facing some tough decisions. PROFESSOR JONES We're all aware of the budget deficit, but what are you doing to address it? CHANCELLOR We're exploring our options. We've considered raising tuition rates, but we know that's not a popular option. PROFESSOR SMITH What about cutting programs and staff? Is that on the table? ASSISTANT We're looking at all possibilities, but we don't want to compromise the quality of education. CUT TO: EXT. QUAD - DAY Eve and her group of students are preparing for their sit-in. ASSISTANT We're working on a solution, but it's a long process. ALUMNUS We have an idea. We're proposing a fundraising campaign with a goal of $25 million dollars. Every dollar raised will be matched up to $20 million dollars by the state. CHANCELLOR That's a bold plan, but it might work. CUT TO: EXT. QUAD - DAY The sit-in has been going on for days. The students are starting to get restless. EVE (to the group) We can't let their inaction win. We have to keep fighting. Suddenly, a delegation from the administration arrives. ASSISTANT (to the students) We've heard your concerns, and we're committed to finding a way to address the budget crisis. The students break out in cheers and applause. CUT TO: INT. CHANCELLOR (to the crowd) Thanks to your generosity, we've raised $25 million dollars, enough to save our programs and protect our education. The crowd erupts in applause.
